Using the Patient Portal

New Patient Instructions:

  1. Begin by clicking the button labeled “Athena Patient Portal” at the top of the page to enter the Patient Portal.
  2. On the right side of the login window, click the light blue “Create an Account” button.
  3. Follow the provided steps that ask for details such as patient status, birth date, and email.

*Note: Each person over 13 years old must have a unique email.  Please call medical records to have a child under 13 years old added to your portal.

  1. Click “continue.”
  2. Check your email. Open the email sent by Franklin County Medical Center and click the blue “Create my Account” button.
  3. Complete the account setup by entering your necessary personal information in the indicated fields.

Returning Patient Instructions:

  1. Click the “Athena Patient Portal” button at the top of this page to access the Patient Portal.
  2. On the right side of the login window, choose the dark blue “Log in with Athena Health” button.
  3. Enter the email address and password linked to your Athena account. This will take you to your patient portal.
  4. If you can’t remember your password, find the small blue link at the bottom of the login window labeled “Forgot Password?”
  5. Provide the email address linked to your account to reset your password.

Pay a Bill Without Creating an Athena Account:

  1. Click the “Athena Patient Portal” button at the top of this page to access the Patient Portal.
  2. On the left side of the login window, locate the section titled “Make a One-Time Payment.” Enter the online payment code from the top of your patient statement.
  3. Finish paying your bill by providing the necessary information in the indicated fields.
  4. If you can’t find your online payment code, click the blue link below the text box saying “Where can I find my code?” An image will show up to help guide you.

Adding a Family Member to Your Account

  1. Click the “Athena Patient Portal” button at the top of this page to access the Patient Portal.
  2. Login to your Athena Patient Portal account.
  3. Once logged in, navigate to your profile image or initials and click it.
  4. A drop-down menu will appear.  Click the top option labeled “My Profile”.
  5. Under your profile page, navigate to “Family Access” found in the top menu bar.
  6. Select “Family Access” then choose “Add Patient”.
  7. Fill out your family member’s information.
